Learn to paint in Acrylic paints - Step by Step
I have the feeling that I am choosing the wrong things for me to paint. I am going to be more selective. and I think Michel has the right idea. get outside and train my painters eyes, to really see the light, dark, and real color of things! I am making a plan!
The main problem we seem to have with light is figuring out the quality of the source and how that affects everything else. The reason this is such a problem is because we do not see things as they are; we see what we have been conditioned to see. What colour is a banana? Or grass? Or an asphalt roadway? Conditioning gives us answers of yellow, green, and black, respectfully. In reality, these answers are often wrong.

At the moment I am only painting with water colours I can do these sitting down, for acrylics I like to stand and at the moment I am not allowed to stand for long. I am looking forward to recovering fully after my major op so that I can paint in acrylics again. I have found that painting with water colours on canvas is very interesting the way it performs and blends and if I put too much on I quickly dab it of before it dries.
