Progress on getting fit

Hello, just thought I would drop in to say hello and let you know how my fitness is going. I have been exercising about 4-5 days a week doing easy stretches and warm up and cool down exercises of 20 mins, I can feel the difference and my body is loosening up and the stiff ness has gone, still get pains in my let I suspect I will have to see the doctor about that. I am feeling better in myself and have just started 10 mins of easy dance to get me moving even more. I have done a couple of videos…See More

Things to do

26th Jan 2017 I am taking a break from painting for a few months as I have some sewing to do and also I need to get fit again after a year of inactivity, so I am taking up yoga. I had a spa day with a friend and had a 55minute massage, the young lady said to me "you are very knotty" I could feel them as she did her magic, it was a little painful but bearable. My body tingled and I had less pain in my legs that night and the next morning The stiffness had eased in my body. So I have to get my…See More

Profile Information

How long have you been painting? Doing any kind of art?
I loved painting at school but did not have the chance to carry on once I left, too many family problems. I painted a little over 20 years ago then stopped and started again 15 months ago when I retired.
What other mediums have you used?
Watercolours, a little oil pastels and soft pastels.
Are their specific things you would like to learn?
Not at the moment just feeling my fingers and getting used to the medium. I am loving it.

Tues 4 Oct

I had a bad fall last week.

I am unable to paint for the next six weeks I have broke a bone in my right elbow, I am right handed.  I will be having a go at drawing with my oil pastels with my left hand and just doodling a bit.

Getting Back to Health

17 Aug 2016

At the moment I am only painting with water colours I can do these sitting down, for acrylics I like to stand and at the moment I am not allowed to stand for long.  I am looking forward to recovering fully after my major op so that I can paint in acrylics again.   I have found that painting with water colours on canvas is very interesting the way it performs and blends and if I put too much on I quickly dab it of before it dries.  I can also get more layers than I could on…
