"This painting will partner very nice with "Encountering A Sailboat At Sunset".  Same family of colors."

"Wow!  What a vibrant painting!  I like the backlit trees and their shadow.  Was this plain air Sarah?  I suppose not if it took 3 hours.  Duh!  Nice job.  It would brighten any room!"

"I think you have a  very colorful  interesting painting here Mike, the foreground rolling hills, cattle and distant hills are all great, I think Karen's comment on the sky is spot on."

"Palette knife work can be exhilarating. It looks like you are mastering the technique quite well.  I love this painting.  I cannot offer any constructive techniques though.  I looks great to me."

"Thanks.  I created a warm glaze of your favorite color, quin gold, along with hansa yellow and it gave me that peachy glow.  Like you, I let the painting "percolate" for a week or so and then I go back to it.  I came to the…"

Profile Information

How long have you been painting? Doing any kind of art?
Five Years. I received a cancer diagnosis prior to that and I find that painting is the perfect therapy for me. I have no background in art prior to that. I mostly do landscapes and seascapes.
What other mediums have you used?
Graphite and charcoal sketching.
Are their specific things you would like to learn?
Glazing techniques, water surfaces, composition, light, knife work.
Where did you learn about this website?
I took a tutorial from Karen on a craft site and I liked her style and teaching method. It was a tutorial where her neighborhood was the painting subject. I liked the thought processes that went into her painting. I have since watched YT videos of Karen and then I discovered this site. To me, she is to acrylics what Bob Ross was to oils.

Thank you for the friend request Mike. Also, thank you for your kind words. I picked up my brushes in March of 2013 to begin studying and learning. Now I have begun my 3rd year. Too much fun! How about you? This is not your 1st rodeo judging from the quality of your work!?! Grins,
Lynda
