How long have you been painting? Doing any kind of art?
I've only just started a week ago, maybe 2 but I've been on and off with art my whole life. My mother is an artist and my brother's. I've done mostly sewing and sketching. My son was born with Hydrocephalus and has had 27 brain surgeries up to date. But He's doing good; he's gone to college and excelled. He wants to open up an Art Therapy Program. I want to help; although, I'm not sure what he wants me to do yet. I may take some courses if I can get help, as I am on disability. I don't know if I can. I'm hoping to learn what I want Online. I'd be happy to be able to paint something, at least once, then another and more.
What other mediums have you used?
I've only just order my gloss medium and it should arrive today. I've been playing with colors and trying different types of paint brushes. I have a lot to learn. I'm on my first color chart, still. I have to finish blending my dark colors; which most seem to be too muddy. I heard you use that term; perhaps lighting them up with white will take that muddy look away but I'll finish the chart as it's supposed to be and start a new one with the whites added.
Are their specific things you would like to learn?
I'm starting with Acrylic paints. I do have some medical problems, myself now and don't know if I can handle the smells of oil paints; although, I'm so tempted to try. We're going to make the porch into my studio in the spring. But for now I'm using the living room.
