Just finished 16x20 still life oil on canvas. I haven't done one in years, but fun and challenging.

Really nice.  Love the inside of the lemon.  You used the perfect colors to get the translucent affect!

This is great Mark!  I've been learning still life work lately and it's not easy!! You've done a spectacular job with this painting. The draped cloth is just perfectly done with all it's lovely folds.  Your shadows are really good too. Well done!

Very nice! I see you changed it from a persimmon to a tomato! Ha, artistic license :) It is a nice composition and interesting lighting. I turned out great!

Ha! Thanks Philippe, I know I'm feeling more and more ancient, but I don't know about the master part. lol! Thanks again my friend!

And thank you also Sarah and Susan for your kind comments. The translucent of the lemon is what inspired this piece and the lighting. So thanks for noticing!

Well done, Mark.  Your apples look so real - as does the tomato and lemon.  Great job.!

Excellent Mark! You paint like an ancient Master.

The glow in the lemon looks almost translucent! And I love the highlight on the tomato.

Thanks Wenda!

Mr. Viacheslav is a master at lighting his still lifes...trying to capture it is another thing! lol

It just goes to show us that lighting is number one in still life, then an interesting composition and shadows.

As always, thanks for your inspiring comments!
