The day after

Acrylics on MDF pannel, 60 cm x 60 cm.
I changed my mind several times for this painting. At the beginning the sky should be blue and there were a running man crossing the street instead of the woman. I made also several trials (purple snow, painting with a sponge, adding some knife strokes...). At the end I'm not satisfied: I find that colors are muddy, there are too much details. Anyway this was an interesting experience.

Another great painting and I simply love the detail. You have a very defined style and I really love it.

Clearly we are our toughest critics!  I love this painting and remember shoveling snow this winter. [and yes I do live in Arizona, but in the Northern section :)]

I think this is a beautiful painting. I like the composition and the beautiful colors. I like the way the viewer moves through the picture coming back to the figure and car in the foreground. I think this is an excellent work that you can be proud of!

Love it Philippe! Your color choices and the values from background to foreground bring the figure and car to perfect focus. Everything from the sky, girl, buildings, tree, and fire escape leads right to it. I don't see any mud just super cold snow! Glad I wasn't there for this one lol!

Philippe - your cityscapes are fantastic! Detail or not, there is so much to look at and appreciate in this painting and the colors are just fantastic! I agree with Karen and the others on this one - you should be very proud of it!

Really like this.  Love the buildings/fire escape, car and reflections.  Well all of it really.  I think the colours are really effective.
