Spring Fishing

12 X 16 Acrylic on Canvas
Blue Heron at Ginnie Springs, Florida.
The water there is amazingly clear and turquoise blue which was very hard to capture.

This is lovely Sarah!  You've made this scene very approachable with the lovely path down to the waters edge....and a great job painting the GBH! Your reflections in the water are done so well. Lovely painting!!

Thanks, Pauline.  The water was truly beautiful at Ginnie Springs and there was a lot of wildlife.  My favorite kind of place!

Hry, Philippe! Great to hear from you. Thanks for your positive feedback. Photographing a painting is a challenge. I always have to use software, at the very least to adjust the white balance. I guess we just have to keep working on it.

Great colours as always Sarah! (warm light, cool shadow, isn't it?). The strong values are very appealing. And when we look closer we see your accurate and beautiful brush strokes.

Ican't manage to take faithful photographies of painting. The same painting is different according the hour of the day. Every time I have to correct colours with my software.

Thank you, Mike, for your kind words. Your positive feedback means a lot!

The bird in the painting is a Blue Heron. He was a very light blue grey in the reference photo, so I painted him light in the painting. I am afraid the photo of the painting lightened him even more. I am still working on photographing paintings so that the colors are matched exactly.

Lovely work Sarah.  I like how you framed the (egret?) with the trees.  And what a job you did on the placid water surface.  There is no question on your light source.  Your highlights defined that very well.  Can't wait to see more of your work.
