North Conway - Husband

5 1/2 x 9" masonite board. Oil paint. Using a reference photo from our trip to North Conway, NH. My husband leaning on the bales of hay. I will also post the reference photo.

Hi Susan :-)  This is really good!  The colors are lively and the likeness  very real...  Oil paint is a medium I want to explore again; right now it's acrylic or pastel for me.  Thanks for posting this; the trip was surely lots of fun :-)   Rita Marie

Beautiful job, Susan.  I agree with Corri - people are hard to do and have them look natural.  You did a wonderful job with this!

Well done Susan!  I think humans, especially the ones we know so well ;-), are incredibly difficult to paint in a way that doesn't make them come out looking awkward!  You have done an AMAZING job on this!  The light and shadows as well as values are right on and this truly is a work of art!  Wow - I am in awe!
