Wow for a first ever acrylic this is super! For me maybe some more subtle shifts in tone in the flowers and path would enhance but for a first really well done. I thoroughly recommended doing the colour card exercise from Karens lesson, helped me enormously.

Thank you, Jeannie, for the encouragement and kind words.  It took me a while to muster enough courage to post my painting... I just wasn't confident enough.  But if I were to learn and grow as an artist (a wannabe at that), who better to listen to than people with similar interests and who understand art?  Karen, through her videos, has inspired me to pick up my brushes again and put to canvas what I have long been seeing in my mind.  And you're right... everything in this painting is so... neat.  As Karen has said... nature is messy, haha!  Also, the leaves on the trees kinda look like bunches of grapes... or even green oysters, haaaah!

I like the way the sun is trying to ' peek'   through,,, just a tiny hint of it,   I love the blue flowers, and the little path ,    I have the sense of  very tall trees  as  well,    I don't know whether to turn left, or  go on,  and go off to the right,     it  also makes me  smell '   the freshness of the woods',  and  feel the coolness,   Karen could tell you what you are doing wrong... but I see nothing other than, you could have added  tiny little branches.. and possibly some trees that have fallen.. it looks like a  groomed area.. because of the flowers   and I have the feeling it is more a park like  area... I think, you have enough trees that are leaning...  this way and that way....     you gave the sense of far off  places in the woods....   and I like all the shadows.... I am looking forward to seeing what Karen adds... good luck... for your first  acrylic... it is  beautiful !
