Crow's Eye View

This is the St Johns bridge in the St Johns neighborhood of Portland, Oregon (where I live) A view I caught last fall on one of my walks. We have lots of crows in the neighborhood as well!

9x12 regular and open acrylics on a 1 3/4" deep stretched canvas.

Love the feeling of peeking through the foliage. Great depth. Beautiful color.

Thank you Ann, Sarah, Philippe and Corri!

Corri, this was an autumn scene, with the tree in its fall wardrobe (love that description!) I did rearrange the shape of the tree to make it fit the composition better.

I love all the paintings you have made with your lovely bridge in it! Curious, was the tree to the left in its fall wardrobe in your ref photo? Or did you make that artistic choice? Either way, I love the beauty of the complimentary orange on the beautiful blue bridge!

I just love the crow in this and seeing things through his eyes. Such gorgeous color, too!

Love the color compliments in this. Your green tree has so much interest in color variation and the orange leaves are beautiful.

Thank you Ian, Marion, Linda, Wanda and Wenda!

Wenda you are doing great with soft and loose - your quick studies have really helped you there I think!

Oh boy, that sound like fun Wanda! You did that last year, right? I know how your feel about the green grass and green trees scenes! I have a few ideas - check over in the discussions, I'm going to write one about it...

I love the focal exercise from near to far!!  The nearness really pops yet your colour choice for the background really works for depth!  I just love this painting!!
