a familiar site in rural America is the hay bale in a field.  Just painted this today. 11 X 14 on canvas board.

yes it certainly is a familiar site! I love the simplicity! nice palette. I would hang it on My wall!

Thank you. I saw it as a contemporary version of Monet’s “Haystacks”.

Oooh love the sky especially on this one Charles. really lovely! The composition is really nice too.

Normally I would question the strong element of the shooting star being so close to the edge, but it so strongly moves our eye inward that it really works nicely.

Just love that sky. I wish I could see that many stars where I live! Something about the simplicity of the shape of the haybale, and all it evokes - country, simple living, peace - really emphasizes the vastness and complexity of space.

Very appealing!

I greatly appreciate the time and interest you given critiquing my work. Though I spent a lot of my childhood and youth on a dairy farm, much of my adult years and spent in an urban setting. I am trying to find ways to communicate the joy and wonder of the natural places I have spent time in. No I have never studied art or taking any formal training and painting, somehow I find painting to be in natural means of telling the story.

It is indeed Charles! Thank you for sharing!
