This is my second picture using the technique I learned at a Wine and paint fund-raiser. It is a fairly simplistic method of painting, but at the same time it gives me a chance to experiment with mixing paint colors.

I was pleased with how the sky turned out. The sea is ok, and the beach is ok, but I have a long ways to go when it comes to painting things like this. I really struggled to get any real sense of character to the beach in terms of sand dunes or depressions in the beach.

The color of the beach is intentional. I was hoping to make it look like the orange sunlight reflecting off the white sands of the gulf of Mexico.

very striking color Russ. learning what the colors do is very important. have you done the color charts yet? they are a very helpful tool! :)

Nice Russ! Very colorful! And a cute little dog! Keep up the good work!
