This is a moody little painting that I finished last month.  It is an acrylic on 8X10 Masonite panel.  There is a story behind this so bear with me.  I was just beginning chemo for a blood-borne disease at Mercy Medical in Baltimore.  My wife, shown in the painting, had overcome her appendix cancer 5 years prior.  We were filled with dread and anxiety on this snowy February day as we walked up the street to the Hilton to our room.  I am happy to report that we are both "stable" at the moment and enjoying a fulfilling and enriching retirement.  We love to travel.  "Mercy Street" is across the street from the clinic and it is also the title of one of our favorite PBS shows.
